We had our 34 week In-Depth ultrasound last week during which they measured the boys to see how they were growing. Andrew put on about a pound and a half to get to 4.75 pounds. Lucas put on about a pound to get to 4 pounds. The OB seemed a bit nervous that Lucas was falling behind, so he did some extra tests. Lucas seems to be ok, he looks healthy and responds well, he's just not growing as fast as he should. This is one of the common risks with twins. The OB recommended we start coming in twice a week for increased monitoring. If these trends continue for the next 2 weeks, then they may induce Lara sooner than the originally scheduled date of May 13th.
We talked to our normal OB this morning and they monitored the boys' heart rates. Everything is ok so far; they just need to put on some weight before birth. The OB doesn't think we'll make it to the May 13th C-Section date we originally had planned, so we've pushed that up a week to the 6th. Of course that'll all depend on what happens in the coming weeks.
