Our friends Nicki and Neal recently moved here from Washington, D.C. Nicki works in a lab and offered to do DNA testing on me, Lara, and the kids. The results came back...
...and the kids are identical. IDENTICAL! We're still getting used to the news. It's apparently not uncommon for identical twins to look different. Their physical appearance, the rarity of identical twins, and the fact that each had its own yolk sac, made us think they were fraternal. Doctors and scientists still don't understand why identical twins happen. It's apparently all just a happy, wonderful accident. Once again, identical twins... wow!
